What is a distributor?

Posted in Jargon explained

The network companies (also known as distributors) own and look after the power lines that transmit the electricity from the national grid to your property, and your solar generation back to the grid. There are many different network companies in Australia although each company operates a monopoly in its given area.

There are a number of ways to find your distributor. DC Power Co customers can look on their bill – the name and contact details of your distributor are listed on the final page under “Faults and Emergencies”. Alternatively, you can visit the Australia Energy Regulator or get in touch with us on 1800 686 686.
